HOW TO CHANGE A STRAP

The precise technical and aesthetic research which is a key feature of every stage of the production of a Panerai watch is accompanied

by equal care and attention paid to the conception of accessories.

Panerai straps are perfectly integrated into the structure of the case and their flexibility and strengthcontribute to the quality of the watch.

Inspired by the straps used in the first Panerai watches, which were wide enough and long enough to be tied over the

wet suits worn by the commandos of the Italian Navy, and always faithful to the historic codes of the brand,

these straps are a perfect balance between elegant design and high technical and sports performance.

NOTE: the replacement of the strap of your watch must be carried out by a Panerai Authorised Distributor or a Panerai Service Centre,

in order to avoid any problems caused by incorrect replacement.

WIRE LOOP SYSTEM

The wire loop strap attachments are a feature of the Panerai Radiomir. An exclusive patented system allows the strap to be replaced easily: the screws at the corners of the case are unscrewed, releasing the attachments which can then be removed from the old strap and reinserted in the new one.

SPRING BAR SYSTEM

The watches with the Panerai Spring Bar System use a special technique for changing the strap and the bracelet. Push on the pivot (A) in the hole visible at the side of the lug to remove the strap gently. To insert the new one, put the bar into the lug and push on the opposite side of the bar to insert it correctly into the other lug. Be careful not to scratch the bottom of the lug during this operation. A small groove within each lug allows the operation to be carried out easily.

INTERCHANGEABLE STRAP SYSTEM

The watches with the Panerai Interchangeable Strap System use a special device for changing the strap and the bracelet. A pin (A), visible at the side of each lug, can be released by simultaneously pushing on the push-piece (B), located on the underside of the lug and on the pin itself. A special tool, supplied in the box, enables this operation to be carried out with simplicity and precision. Before making the replacement, detach the two parts of the tool. To complete the replacement, after fitting the pin, push on the push-piece (B). At each end of the strap, there is a metal tube that enables the strap to be replaced easily and at the same time makes it highly reliable. The tube must be removed from the old strap and then inserted in the new one.

SCREW SYSTEM

The watches with the Panerai Screw System use a steel screwdriver for changing the strap. The screwdriver tip must be inserted into the screw head in the hole (A) and turned anti-clockwise to unscrew it, while applying pressure on the handle to hold the tip firmly in the head. At each end of the strap, there is a metal tube that enables the strap to be replaced easily and at the same time makes it highly reliable. The tube must be removed from the old strap and then inserted in the new one.

QUICK RELEASE SYSTEM

The strap can be replaced without needing to use any tool: the strap is removed from the case by just a simple pressure on the back of the strap close to the case attachment, and it is fitted again with equal ease. Unhooking the strap: position the strap with an angle from 45 to 60° relative to the watch and press on the push-button upward to release the strap. Hooking the strap: position gently the strap on the bar between the watch lugs with an angle from 45 to 60° relative to the watch, so that the opening of the strap for quick release is well aligned with the bar, ready to be “pushed-in”. Then press the strap downward until the system clicks and control that it is well inserted by doing a few rotations on the strap pushing it upward.
