SUBMERSIBLE QUARANTAQUATTRO eSTEEL™

The new addition is Submersible QuarantaQuattro eSteel™️, whose case is made of Panerai eSteel™️, a next-generation material that has the same properties of conventional steel but is made of 95% recycled steel.  It is highly resistant to corrosion and hypoallergenic, making it ideal for contact with the skin.  The Panerai watches created for the Italian Navy were made of austenitic stainless steel, a solid, reliable material that was also resistant to the extreme environmental conditions in which the commandos operated.

The bracelet, light, strong and resistant, is also made of a material designed to reduce environmental impact, obtained from recycled PET. 7.8 grams of the strap are made of recycled materials, corresponding to 68% of the total strap weight (11.5 g).

A second recycled rubber bracelet is offered in the watch packaging.  Panerai uses high quality rubber for advanced abrasion resistance as endurance for oils and corrosive agents.

THE NEW RECYCLED PANERAI PACKAGING*

Conceived to reduce its environmental footprint, the new Panerai packaging is another demonstration of the pioneering spirit of the brand merging creativity, Italian design and innovation.

Made of FSC paper it is produced by using at least 72% post-consumer recycled materials, a remarkable stride towards sustainability founded on two pillars: smaller size and use of recycled materials.

53% lighter than the previous version, the new packaging reduces by 48% the  CO2e emissions corresponding to a cut of 4 kg CO2e per item.

Innovative and iconic, it expresses the brand’s ambition to transcend boundaries and merge aesthetics and function. Blue as the ocean which is Panerai natural playground, the new packaging includes a removable travel pouch that, by turning the lid, can be closed to secure the watch during transport. The packaging includes a drawer to store the interchangeability tool, the screw driver and a second bracelet depending on the models.

Climate change is a challenge that is immense in scale and global in its reach, requiring unflinching effort from every sector to fight it. Remaking its packaging is part of a continuum of actions Panerai employs to reduce its carbon footprint radically. The brand will continue to transform from the inside out for a better environment.

Submersible eLAB-ID™

Launched in 2021, Submersible eLAB-ID™ is a concept watch pushing the limits of recyclability in the watch industry.

Submersible eLAB-ID™ is the first watch to use 95% recycled SuperLuminova™ on its dial and hands and 100% recycled silicon for its movement escapement. Both are obtained through dedicated, small-scale recycling processes that reuse raw material waste. From the sapphire crystal to the movement, most of the major components contain recycled material.

A marvel of innovation and dedication, Submersible eLAB-ID™ is a major accomplishment for Panerai and a tribute to the creativity and tenacity of the Laboratorio di Idee, the research and development incubator that drives the brand’s technical advancements.

LUMINOR MARINA eSTEEL

Panerai forges ahead with its mission to bring more circular practices to the world of watchmaking with a Luminor Marina built from a next-generation metal.

Luminor Marina eSteel has been for more than seven decades the preeminent emblem of the Panerai brand. Noted for being the very first model to feature the patented crown-protecting device, it has been at the forefront of the brand’s technical innovations and remains so today, becoming the first Panerai watch to feature one of the most remarkable technical achievements in the brand’s history: eSteel.

eSteel is a next-generation metal obtained from pre-consumer recycled steel scraps (up to 95%) coming from different industries  preferably from Swiss watchmaking industry. It is an advancement that represents a step in Panerai’s commitment to reduce the need for virgin material extraction and its associated high environmental impact. Its production significantly reduces CO2 emissions.
